Dr. Veerabagu is one of the top gastroenterologists in the United States with over 25 years of experience in both clinical and academic settings. He completed Internal Medicine residency followed by Nutrition and Metabolism Fellowship at New England Deaconess Hospital (Harvard Medical School), Gastroenterology fellowship training at SUNY Health Science Center Syracuse NY and finally completing a fellowship in Hepatology & Liver Transplantation, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, PA.

Academics
Dr. Veerabagu is a sought-after expert in the field of gastroenterology and has been recognized for his work. He has been a teaching faculty of MUSC (Medical University of South Carolina) and involved in training of both medical students and residents at AnMed Health. He has been an honorary faculty at Medical College of Georgia for training their faculty members in Endoscopic Ultrasound procedures. He has been involved in many committees and associations, including Anmed Health’s Cancer Committee and South Carolina Medical Association.

Dr. Veerabagu has received many awards for his medical accomplishments, including Outstanding Senior Resident in Internal Medicine Residency Program at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Awarded the distinguished fellow of the American Gastroenterological Association – AGAF. He is a long term member of ASGE-American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and ACG – American College of Gastroenterology.
